In addition to the gold-rolling opening, the cut processing of the book block also has a dipping flower opening process. The dipped flower mouth is much more complicated than the gold mouth, and the quality requirements are quite strict. It needs to be made once during the operation, and there is no room for rework.
1) Materials and formulas for dipping flowers
â‘ Materials: including sticky materials and color materials.
Sticky material: diluted with hydrochloric acid (bottom sticky material), water, flour paste, and seaweed.
Color: yellow, red, blue, and fresh cattle bitterness.
â‘¡ Preparation.
â–² Color preparation,
a. Take three pigments of equal weight. Grind each color in a porcelain mortar or copper mortar to a fine powder (the finer the better, no particles). Do not mix colors with each other during grinding. Clean the mortar dishes after grinding each color. Each color powder produced is put into a transparent container and is ready for use.
b. Place fresh cow bitter gall (choose 1 or 2 according to the amount) in a container without water, stew in water (about 10min after boiling), and then divide it into 3 colors (1 Niu bitter gall with 15-25g for each color) and stir immediately to use.
â–² Adhesive preparation.
There are two types of adhesive, namely bottom adhesive and colored adhesive. The role of the bottom adhesive is to make the color firmly adhere to the incision; the role of the color adhesive is to stick the color to the surface when dipping)
a. Bottom sticky material: take 1/4 hydrochloric acid solution and 3/4 of fresh water, mix and stir to make.
b. Color sticky material: Mix flour and sea creatures with beef and dilute with water, dilute and heat it, and boil it into a thin viscous liquid (the viscosity is slightly thicker than that used for scanning).
â–² Ingredient requirements.
a. The ingredients of various materials should be properly placed to ensure that the flower mouth is firmly bonded;
b. When ingredients are taken, a little is taken for the test, and then the amount is added after preparation to avoid waste caused by non-compliance;
c. It is necessary to strictly maintain the purity of various colors to ensure the correct color of the dipped flowers.
2) Tools and use for dipping
â‘ One rectangular container box (with tinplate or aluminum skin in the wooden box), the box is 800mm long and 300mm wide (Figure 7-1). The box is divided into two sections, one section is 600mm long, used to store paste adhesive, and the other section is 200mm long, used to store the remaining material after dipping. The two sections are separated and cannot be mixed.

â‘¡ 3 ordinary sheep hair brushes (one for each color, which cannot be mixed), used for painting.
â‘¢ One needle castor (can be made by a large needle), the length is 2-3 times the thickness of the book block, used to mix patterns with color materials.
â‘£A small round wooden stick, about 120mm in length, the diameter can be large or small, the diameter of the fine pattern should be small, and vice versa, it can be selected according to requirements.
⑤ Connect the flat nozzle water pipe (similar to the ultrasonic nozzle) to the water pipe, that is, use a water pipe with high pressure, ready to be used after flushing the flower mouth.
3) The operation process and requirements of the dipped flower mouth.
The dip of the book block needs to be done after cutting, but it can't be cut with a three-sided knife at a time. One side should be dipped to avoid the color staining the other cut surface and causing the flower pattern to be dirty. The process is as follows: preparation before dipping → coated with adhesive material → coated with coloring material → dipped flower mouth → rinsed → naturally dried → inspected.
Before dipping the flower mouth, all materials and tools must be prepared, and one of them must not be missed, to avoid continuous processing due to missing. The operation must be absolutely correct and must not be stopped halfway, all at once.
â‘ Place the spare materials and tools.
a. Place the container box containing the paste ingredients on the right side of the workbench in front of the operator; draw the color writing brush, needle caster, and wooden stick on the lower right side of the container box;
b. The container of hydrochloric acid and water is placed on the left side of the container box;
c. Three color containers equipped with ox gall, placed on the front upper side of the container box in the order of use;
d. Put the water pipe used for the coloring material in the position of the operator, and prepare the water storage container or water pipe.
After all utensils are ready, you can carry out the dipping operation.
â‘¡ Clip the top material on the book.
Use two thin plastic boards or wooden boards (the same specifications as the book block) to clamp the book block on the light side (preferably tied), the cut is flush with the plywood, and it cannot be protruded or recessed.
After the book block clamping clips are neat, apply a layer of dilute hydrochloric acid mixed solution along the incision surface, and then dipped into the flower mouth after natural drying.
Operation requirements: only one clip per dipping, the clamping degree should be basically the same, the clip should be clamped together, and it should not be loosened; the primer should be applied evenly, the brush texture should be soft, and no debris should be applied to the incision To ensure the cut surface is clean and tidy.
â‘¢ Painting color.
Painting refers to the operation of dipping the prepared color materials on the incision with a brush. When the base material is qualified, use its natural dry time to dip the three kinds of color materials with a brush, and draw the color uniformly on the surface of the paste in the adhesive storage container box. The length should be more than 1.5 times the book block length, and the width should be 2-3 times the book block thickness (back width). After the three colors are painted color by color, use a round wooden stick to regularly stir up and down on the paste painted with three colors (mainly stir the surface of the color, not to stir and destroy the pattern), wait for the three colors to be stirred After forming a thinner color bar, use a needle caster to draw a pattern with a pattern in the left-right direction (the length direction of the storage box) (Figure 7-1, see above).
Regardless of the color, mixing, or drawing of the pattern, it must be evenly applied, and cannot be stopped halfway (if there is a regular stop, it does not affect the effect of the pattern), it can be done at once.
After the above work is completed, the cut of the book block with the primer is also dried, at this time, the flower mouth can be dipped.
â‘£ Dip and stick the flower mouth.
For the book block that is well-coated and dried naturally, pinch the two ends (the head and the feet) with both hands, and put the cut-down face down into the colored storage container box, so that the cut surface is dipped and sizing through the colorant Paste the sticky material, let the incision stick to the pattern color, and then take it out immediately to complete the dipping operation.
Operation requirements: The cut of the book block must not move after being placed in the colored paste, and the action should be smooth to avoid disturbing the pattern after the movement; the contact surface of the cut of the book block and the color paste should be uniform and consistent, and it should not be dipped or over-dipped. Shallow and affect the processing of other cut surfaces and the quality of the color surface; the colored paste adhesive after dipping a book can not be glued to the next one, use a scraper to scrape it into a small container box, and then repaint Only then can the next book be processed.
⑤Flush.
Rinse refers to the operation of flushing away the excess paste material on the cut surface dipped into the flower mouth with clean water. ,
After dipping the flower mouth, immediately rinse the incision adhesive with water sprayed from the flat nozzle until all the adhesive on the flower mouth is completely washed away. After the rinsed flower mouth, the color material pattern is bitten and stuck on the incision, the pattern is clear and regular, neat and clean, beautiful and artistic. After cutting, the splint can be removed, and the whole process of dipping the flower mouth is completed.
Operation requirements: the flushing water nozzle should be flat, and the pressure of the water should be flushed; the water sprayed from the water pipe should have a certain angle with the face of the flower (see Figure 7-2). Inside the book block or on other surfaces; check whether the book block is clamped when rinsing, and bind it in time if there is slack to avoid seeping into the book block when flushing; the book block after washing must be completely dry naturally before opening the clip Take it out. If you need to process other surfaces, then cut and clamp in sequence to continue to complete each step of the operation, complete the dipping mouth of one side or only one side.
