Barrier Enhanced Blown Film PET Alloy

Futura Polyesters India has successfully developed PET/PTN alloys to produce beer bottles through stretch blow molding. It is said that the barrier properties of this alloy are greatly improved as compared with pure PET. Beer bottles produced with the new resin have a barrier to CO2 of 18 times higher than that of PET and a 9 times higher barrier to O2. This means that beer bottles processed with this alloy have a longer shelf life of beer.
