Agfa uses hot-melt technology to enhance the environmental characteristics of printing plates

In order to further reduce the carbon footprint of its products, Agfa has recently used its Thermofuse technology on Azura and Amigo plates.

Agfa said that hot-melt technology allows printers to reduce the use of water and chemicals in the platemaking process; and due to the adoption of a new packaging design, these plates consume energy and produce during transportation and use. There is less waste.

Frank Van Damme, global marketing manager for Agfa's thermal plates, said: "Our plate provides a relatively clean plate-making process for our customers, and we also reduce the printed material per square meter by about 50%."
