Recently, the Additive Manufacturing Center of the Third Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology has batch printed 210 high-temperature alloy outer nuts for the first time, which have been successfully delivered, and more than 100 follow-up non-destructive tests are in progress. The batch printing of high-temperature alloy jacket nuts indicates that the additive manufacturing center has made significant progress in promoting the application of 3D printing on products.
The high temperature alloy outer nut is a part of the front equipment cabin of a certain model. Due to the structural characteristics, the most difficult part of this part to be machined is the circular groove. It needs to be processed with a Φ2 ball head. The processing efficiency is low and the tool is easy to break, which is not conducive to mass production; Secondly, the length of the common Φ2 tool is generally only 5mm, and the processing of 9mm deep length requires custom-made special tool processing; the chip removal is difficult during the processing process, causing the tool to break easily. Therefore, the development process plan of the high-temperature alloy jacket nut is developed, and the laser selective melting forming is combined with the traditional machining process.
Laser selection melts to form the outer nut, first process the model, the ring groove and the internal thread are printed directly in place, and the external thread is processed afterwards; add machine chucks, in order to reduce material consumption, the chucks use 2mm wall thickness cylinders "#" Rib structure. The combination of laser selection melting forming and mechanical processing scheme is adopted. The total printing time of 210 products is about 252 hours. The average printing time of a single product is only about 1.2 hours. The subsequent machine of a single product is about 1 hour. About 4 hours. This solution can not only ensure the forming and dimensional accuracy of the outer nut, but also reduce the machining process and the occupancy rate of key equipment, shorten the production cycle by about 50%, avoid the loss of cutting tools, and reduce the production cost.
The batch printing of high temperature alloy jacket nut products was completed and delivered smoothly, which fully embodies the important application of 3D printing technology in product development and mass production. Subsequent additive manufacturing centers continue to actively carry out technical exchanges and coordination with designers, prompting the trial and exploration of multiple products in the field of 3D printing, and promoting the application of advanced process technologies in new products.
