Smart card password authentication scheme constructed using bilinear pairing

With the continuous development of network technology, more and more systems are used to provide remote access to resources, and authentication is very important to ensure its security. In a sense, all other security services rely on authentication.

Reference [1] proposes a one-time password authentication mechanism based on a hash function to resist replay attacks. The literature [2] pointed out that there is a defect in the literature [1] scheme that needs to maintain the password table, and proposes a new smart card-based password authentication scheme.

In recent years, bilinear pairs (especially identity-based cryptographic schemes) have been widely used in cryptography. In [3], a smart card password authentication scheme based on bilinear pairing is proposed. The security flaws of the smart card password authentication scheme are pointed out in the literature [4-7] and corresponding correction schemes are proposed.

However, the solutions proposed in the literature [1-7] have security problems. This paper first gives preliminary knowledge about bilinear pairing smart card password authentication schemes, then reviews similar schemes and attacks on these schemes, and finally proposes new schemes and conducts security analysis.

Conclusion

This paper proposes a new smart card password authentication scheme based on bilinear pairing. Its security is based on the difficulty of DLP and CDHP. In the login and verification phase of the scheme, only the addition and multiplication operations on the group are performed, and the hash function and the public key encryption and decryption operation are not used, and the calculation cost is lower. Because the scheme is simpler and more convenient to use, it can make up for the security flaws of the existing schemes, and thus has a good application prospect in a system with high security requirements.
