Royal Special Forces Training Manual (Chapter 1)

Chapter 6 Field Survival Training

The purpose of the Field Survival Training (CST) is to enable soldiers of special air missions to fight in any terrain.

It is to train new players under various terrain conditions. They can be seen from snow-capped South Wales to the hot and humid jungle. The purpose is to make them survive in difficult field conditions.

Many of the contents of continuing training are only on paper, and the physical limits of the soldiers cannot be detected, so that the task of selecting qualified soldiers cannot be completed satisfactorily. However, special training has one course of field survival training. Its main feature is high-intensity training, and the trainees are subject to huge physical tests and psychological pressure.

Field survival training has multiple roles. First: This course teaches new players how to survive in the wild. The logistics support conditions for special aircrew are generally poor when they perform their duties, and it is easy to break the water, which is more likely to occur when performing certain special tasks. If this happens in actual combat, they must survive healthy survival. Second: Part of the training is how to teach new players how to avoid the trial of the enemy after arrest and arrest. The soldiers of the special forces are one of the targets most wanted by the enemy. They know that there are many confidential situations, and they are often far away from conventional forces when they perform their tasks, so they are sometimes easily captured by the enemy. After the enemy captured the soldiers of the special forces, they would be scrutinized by them and tried various methods to interrogate them. Anti-trial training is to train soldiers to master various techniques for dealing with enemies. More importantly, members of the joint trial training team can use this course to examine which people have the best psychological quality so that they can send such people in the future. Perform the toughest tasks. There are three training bases for field survival training. The training content is divided into three parts. The first part of the training base is Herford. The purpose is to teach new players the basic survival skills. The main content is to teach new players how to find food and water in the wild, how to make a fire and build a shelter without being spotted by the enemy. The second part is jungle training: Special air traffic missions hold two jungle training sessions each year in Brunei's British Jungle Training School, usually in March and September. The two training sessions total about six weeks. Training can master combat skills in dense jungles. The third part of the training was conducted in Axmoore and other places. Its main content is to escape the hunt training, teach the soldiers how to get away from the enemy and escape the hunt. The most intense part of this training is the anti-interrogation training, joint trials. The personnel of the training team personally preside over this part of the training. They often use the most brutal and closest approach to interrogate new players. If the trainees are slightly shaken during the trial, they will be eliminated.

In the actual training process, the three parts are blended together. Only in this way can the new players realize how they can survive in the harshest environment in the world.

Survival training

The content of the jungle training is special and its meaning is unusual. Therefore, this part of the training is conducted separately during the field survival training. The survival training of special aircrews is a long-term process. Through training in the United Kingdom, soldiers must master the skills of survival and combat under all kinds of terrain conditions. The temperate climate and topography of Britain are very different from desert and polar regions, so even if it is Qualified special air mission personnel who have passed the field survival training training are also required to conduct training in the UK so that they can adapt to the various environments that they may encounter in the future. At the same time, the British survival training content also covers various elements of survival training around the world. These training factors are: finding food and water, building shelters, and creating fire.

food

The new players must learn how to survive on the animals and plants in the wild. The new team must be able to distinguish whether the plant is toxic, but also will kill prey and learn various cooking skills and methods of storing food.

water

Without food, normal people can live for a week, but they will die if they do not drip within a week. So finding water is the most important skill for new players to learn in field survival training. They will use various methods to find natural water sources, dig groundwater or receive rainwater.

Shelter

No matter what the weather conditions, having a shelter is a very important issue. As long as you can protect yourself, a random canopy or a large branch can be used as a shelter. The new team members will learn how to use natural materials in the field survival training process to build shelters that meet actual needs in the right places. He must be able to live and cook in it, and the humidity of the shelter should be suitable.

fire

Fire is also an essential survival factor. The fire can not only illuminate but also cook. It can also expel mosquitoes on hot days and boost morale. However, soldiers must be careful when firing, because the flames may make the enemy find their whereabouts. The new players in the field survival training will learn when and where to adapt to the fire, and one skill they must learn is how to fire without matches and lighters.
