Precautions for the design and production of optical discs

CD prepress design is an important part of the disc printing process. Due to the special shape of the disc, and only part of the disc surface of the disc belongs to the printable area (Figure 1-1, 1-2, 1-3.1-4). As shown), the pre-press design of the disc is rather special. In actual work, it often happens that the art design draft or film delivered by the customer does not meet the printing requirements of the optical disc, which results in the delay in the production, the increase of the rejection rate, and the increase in the printing cost. Therefore, following the correct “pre-production design guidance”, the art design manuscript that meets the requirements for the printing of the optical disc has been successfully completed by half for the disc printing. This article will discuss the points that should be noted in the prepress design of the optical disc.





1, standard digital files

(1) Make sure that the image files, screen fonts, print fonts, and layout documents are complete.

(2) All the documents that need to be output must have color proofs.

(3) When the customer handed over the output file to the printing factory, he should print out a list of the contents of the output file.

(4) According to requirements, put the various elements of the artwork and the registration mark in the correct position.

(5) - In accordance with the "guidance", we must refer to the center of the CD. Place the disc rims and printed outer rims exactly where they are.

(6) For digital files, the image file format is recommended as an EPS or Postscript font.
