All new users have many questions about computer-to-plate technology: how to get started? Where to start? Should I choose a thermal machine, or a violet laser? Or equipment using any plate? Is using the ordinary PS version of CTcP equipment a real way to the future? Is it a wise investment?
There may not be such a topic as there is such a general uncertainty, no industry like CTcP, spread so many absurd views. Therefore, we want to clarify some of the most important issues in this regard. After all, we have been engaged in CTcP technology 20 years ago.
1. Ordinary PS plates are almost no longer produced and there are no more, is this right?
Sorry, this statement is purely absurd. The production of any special plates is determined by the large-scale global market. Even in Europe, where labor costs are high, ordinary plates will account for over 40% of the market share. There is no CTP plate material, like ordinary PS plate material, the printability is so excellent, the cost is so low, and the number is so huge. In the traditional printing industry with high cost pressure, how is it possible to eliminate a cost-effective technology? In fact, the greater the pressure of market competition, the more it will show the value of Besin equipment.
2. The CTP version will be cheaper than the ordinary PS version in the near future. By then, CTcP will no longer be affordable, right?
This statement has been circulating for more than ten years, but until today, it is still the future, and it has not become a reality. In fact, even in today's Europe, the ordinary PS version is still more than 30% cheaper than the CTP version, or even more, which is determined by the rigid cost. There is a fact: Compared with ordinary PS version, CTP version has high requirements on the flatness of the aluminum base and the purity of the base. Only in this way can the movement accuracy of the CTP hub exposure and the quality of the base sand be guaranteed. The quality of the domestically produced CTP version is very poor, mostly due to the quality of the domestic aluminum version.
3. These ordinary PS plates have not been developed for the current high-resolution imaging technology, which means that they cannot be compared with CTP plates in terms of quality?

4. The plates specially produced for CTP are definitely easy to operate, right?
This is another fallacy. Because CTP plates are more sensitive to scratches, chemical processing solutions, heat sources, light and printing workflow. At present, no plate in the market can be stable, durable and reliable like ordinary plates. The usage rate of CTP equipment in many Chinese printing plants is not high, and the plate is expensive. One of the reasons is that the printing suitability of some CTP plates is not perfect; the third reason is that the CTP equipment has a traditional pre-press workflow. 5. The question is, CTcP is only more economical for printing companies that consume 50,000 square meters or more of annual plate material, is this true?
Not at all. CTcP equipment is suitable for all printing enterprises of medium or above scale. If the printing plant has two four-color printing presses and the annual plate consumption is 30,000 square meters, most printing plants can achieve this figure. The return on investment of CTcP equipment will be more than 50%. For printing houses or professional plate-making centers, the return on investment of CTcP will be higher! If the printing house already has two or more offset presses, it is far more cost-effective to invest in CTcP than to invest in thermal plate-making machines and purple laser plate-making machines. For traditional pre-press customers, customers can save film money and use Improve efficiency to make more money.
We are not saying that other thermal CTP or photosensitive CTP equipment is not good. For customers, what is applicable is the best. Among all the plate-making machines, the price of shellfish printing is the most expensive. If the amount of the plate is not large, the plate material accounts for a small proportion of the printing cost, or the high printing price does not matter the cost of the plate material. Then, the thermal CTP or the purple laser CTP has not been tasted. No, Bessin is more suitable for customers with large plate-making volume, many short-form jobs, and continuous cost reduction.
In addition, the investment ideas of thermal CTP and Besin CTcP are completely different. The investment of thermal CTP equipment is small, the life of the equipment is short (screw screw motion system and air cooling), the benefit period is short, and the cost of equipment is high (to be replaced (Thermal laser, and violet laser)), the cost of the plate is high (plus free printing solution), the printing suitability is average, the printing quality is good, and the printing resistance is not as good as the ordinary PS version.
