The “Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber Pilot Plant Pilot Study†project undertaken by the Petrochemical Research Institute of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company recently passed the technical appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Gansu Province. Experts believe that this technology has filled the domestic gap and reached the domestic leading level, in which the catalyst preparation technology has reached the international advanced level.
It is understood that Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Institute undertook the project through scientific research, so that the yield of pilot preparation of ruthenium catalyst reached 90%, and the activity was comparable to that of small-scale test products. The removal of catalyst was the first in China, and the solvent recovery rate was greater than 98%. The recycled solvent can be recycled without affecting hydrogenation. The NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) hydrogenation process and the pilot plant operation proved to be of a long-term operation. The process and process parameters are designed to be reasonable. The hydrogenation rate of the product can be controlled between 90% and 99%, which is in agreement with the small test results. It achieved the purpose of scale-up in the pilot test. Its product performance is equivalent to that of similar products in Japan.
The research and development of the HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile rubber) pilot test process provided relatively complete design data for the industrialization of the technology. There was no industrial wastewater discharge during the production process, and the exhaust emission complied with the national emission standards. The vigorous promotion of the pilot product in this technology will lay a solid market foundation for its application.
