Today, the American bedroom furniture market, the market share of imported furniture is not regressive, from 2004 58% rose to 70% today. In addition, the unemployment rate in the United States has not decreased, and the number of American workers in the bedroom furniture industry is now less than half that before the anti-dumping policy. The US anti-dumping policy did not achieve the expected results.

US wooden bedroom furniture import list: Vietnam has surpassed China

In China, in 2004 (before the implementation of the tariff policy), the amount of Chinese bedroom furniture exported to the United States reached 1.2 billion US dollars, compared with only 691 million US dollars in 2010. It can be said that this policy has caused great impact on Chinese wooden bedroom furniture manufacturers. For example, Fuding Wood (Dongguan) Co., Ltd. is a Taiwan-owned export-oriented enterprise. It is located in Yangwu, Dalingshan Town, Dongguan City. It mainly produces American antique furniture and sofas, all of which are sold to Europe and America. According to SouFun Furniture Network, Fuding Wood has shipped up to 400 containers per month in the early years, but today it only has 60 containers.

At the same time, Vietnam, which has lower labor costs and other costs, increased its total bedroom furniture exports from US$151 million to US$931 million, surpassing China and becoming the largest supplier of bedroom furniture in the United States.

Keith Koenig, president of CityFurniture in the United States, said: "The anti-dumping in the middle is a typical example of good intentions." Travis Belle, a buyer who moved from Virginia to Dongguan, ridiculed the US anti-dumping policy: "(anti-dumping) What changed was the location of our dinner, which was in Dongguan, but now it is Ho Chi Minh City."

It is reported that in order to avoid the US anti-dumping policy, many Chinese furniture manufacturers have moved their factories to Vietnam and Indonesia and continue to snatch the US furniture market at low prices.
