The surface hardness of the plate cylinder after chrome plating is about 1100 Vickers hardness, the squeegee hardness should be lower than the plate hardness, about 500 to 600 Vickers hardness (HV), too high hardness will cause the plate to wear too fast, and Scratch lines are produced, which affects the quality of printing; if the hardness is too low, the ink cannot be scraped cleanly. The thickness of the squeegee can be 0.1mm / 0.15mm / 0.2mm / 0.25mm, etc., and the printing factory can decide according to the actual situation.
There are also two types of blade shapes for the squeegee blades. The cross-section of the blade shape for one squeegee blade is consistent, ensuring that the area of ​​the contact portion with the plate cylinder is always the same. Another type of squeegee blade changes with the use time, and the contact area continuously changes, resulting in poor squeegee effect, and the ink color of the printed product becomes light, uneven, etc. The length of the doctor blade is slightly longer than the length of the plate cylinder.
