SLA3D post-printing method

SLA 3D printer after printing needs to be post-processed article, the article is removed after curing, the uncured photosensitive resin cleaning.

1. Cleaning parts

When your part comes out of the printer, it is covered by uncured resin. You must rinse it out before further post-processing. Using an ultrasonic bath, like cleaning jewelry, is a simple and effective way to clean SLA prints. Inject enough isopropyl alcohol (IPA) into the bathtub to cover the print and let it rest for a few minutes. This will peel off the fine layer of uncured resin sticking to your model, leaving a smooth, clean surface. If you don't have an ultrasonic bath, just snap your part into the IPA bathtub. Move your parts and rinse them off to remove the resin. This method is quick and easy, but it cannot be thoroughly cleaned like an ultrasonic bath. Two or more rinses may be required to peel off the resin adhering to the surface.

2. Remove support

Next, delete the tree support structure attached to the model. This can be done before or after curing, but it would be easier to do so before. Always pay attention to flying stray plastics. If you don't worry about small details, manually breaking the support is the quickest way. However, if your model has good functionality, it is best to use it with caution. For more complex parts, use a flat cutter to carefully cut the support. As close as possible to the model without damaging the surface. With these two methods, small patches will be left on your prints. This is inevitable, but it is easy to make up with a little sandpaper and some patience.

3. Polishing

Removing the support parts will leave a mark on the support. These places need to be polished. If the items you want to print need to be colored or the surface details are relatively high, then the printed items will be polished and polished. The item will look even better and the whole will be more perfect.
