Large-scale particle size butyrate synthesis technology developed successfully

The large-scale styrene-butadiene latex synthesis technology development project undertaken by the Jilin Chemical Research Institute was approved by experts of Jilin Chemical Corporation on January 20, 2000.
SBR can be widely used in papermaking, carpet and foam rubber products, but the traditional styrene-butadiene latex is polymerized with high temperature (50-600C) emulsion. The resulting latex particle size (0.08μ) is small, so its application range is limited. Limitations. Large particle size styrene-butadiene rubber is widely used in the production of paints, adhesives, foam rubber and ABS due to its large particle size, which maintains its flow even at high solids content. The technology was developed using high temperature emulsion technology for seed polymerization. The latex can be agglomerated to obtain large-size styrene-butadiene latex. Can be used for the production of MBS, ABS and other products. Experts agreed that the technical data for acceptance is complete and the data is reliable. The proposed polymerization formula is reasonable and the process is stable. The established agglomeration process technology has applied for Chinese patents, and a small amount of waste water can be treated to meet the emission standards. Can be used to guide the 10,000-ton trial production.
The major performance index of the large-size styrene-butadiene rubber latex products developed has reached the level of Japan's JSRO56l sample. The preliminary application of the experimental results in the laboratory of Jihua Synthetic Resin Factory shows that it is expected to replace imported products.
