Japan: Development of High-Efficiency Floor Heating Panels

Three companies, including Tokyo Electric Power, Kansai Electric Power, and Dajian Industry, will jointly develop high-efficiency floor heating panels. The “upward cooling rate” exceeds 90%, which is the highest in the industry.
The so-called "upward heat dissipation rate" refers to the use of the heat of hot water as an indicator of warm room heat and upward heat dissipation along the floor. In the past, the standard upward heat dissipation rate of hot water floor heating panels was around 60%. If the floor temperature is to be raised to 30°C in 30 minutes, water with a temperature of about 80°C is required.
The surface of the newly developed high-efficiency floor heating panel adopts a new material with high thermal conductivity, so that the upward heat dissipation rate can be increased to more than 90%. As a result, the energy loss is up to 30% lower than that of previous products, and even at a low hot water temperature of 45°C, the standard temperature can be quickly reached within 30 minutes.
This newly developed product will be commercialized this fall. The production company will also promote products to air conditioner makers and heat pump water heater makers that feature hot water floor heating.
