Analysis and Comparison of Cutting Edge Mode of Circuit Board Engraving Machine
1. The purpose of cutting edges
In general, the purpose of cutting edges is twofold:
1. Separate a circuit board from the copper clad board;
2. The circuit board has a certain shape design, which requires the finished board to conform to the drawings.
Second, the form of cutting edge
There are three main types of cut edges:
1. The outer frame requires the cutting edge knife to be shifted outward;
2. Inner frame, requires the cutting edge knife to shift inwards;
3. For internal lines, the line width needs to be considered. If the line width is greater than the engraving knife diameter, the algorithm is the same as the inner frame; if the line width is less than or equal to the engraving knife diameter, the algorithm is the same as the inner frame.
3. The main technical difficulties of cutting edges
According to the different forms of cutting edge, the main technical difficulties of cutting edge operation are as follows
1. Judgment of the form of cutting
First, we must judge the outer frame, inner frame and inner line separately according to the KEEPOUT line, and adopt different processing methods for different forms. This is a necessary prerequisite.
2. Influence of cutting edge diameter
The edge cutter has a certain width. If it is omitted, the finished board size will be smaller than the drawing requirements;
A. The outer frame requires the cutting edge knife to be shifted outward;
B. Inner frame, requires the cutting edge knife to shift inwards;
C. For inner lines, the ideal method is to cut out an inner frame according to the line width. However, when the line width is smaller than the diameter of the engraving knife, it will become impossible to cut the knife. At this time, the user needs to be reminded. There are also some manufacturers who will choose to cut the knife directly from the KEEPOUT center.
3. Cut edges first and then inside
Generally, the circuit board is fixed with double-sided tape or positioning pins. If the outer frame is cut first, the circuit board can be moved. When the inner frame is cut, accuracy cannot be guaranteed, and even the cutter will be damaged.
The conventional approach is to first draw the inner line, then the inner frame, and finally the outer frame. But in practical applications, the order of internal lines and inner frames is not too important.
Four, cutting edge mode
There are three common cutting edge modes:
1. Rectangular cut
Only read the circuit board size and cut the circuit board according to the rectangle.
This method has low technical difficulty and is easy to implement, but it is not possible to make special-shaped plates.
2. Center cut edge
Cut the knife exactly in the center of the user's KEEPOUT layer. Users can achieve the desired effect through their own calculation and modification of the KEEPOUT layer, but this method cannot achieve the cutting edge sequence from inside to outside. Suitable for circuit boards without internal cutouts.
3. Smart cutting
According to the requirements of the circuit board, the ideal engraving effect can be achieved, but the technical difficulty is high, the algorithm is complex, and the implementation is difficult.
5. Other factors
1. According to different plates, the cutting edge depth, resistance and adhesion are different. The engraving speed can be adjusted according to different situations. If the speed is too fast, it is easy to break the edge cutter.
2. In some special cases, you can consider cutting the edges gradually to reduce the burden of the edge cutter. For example: In the microwave control, an 8mm thick board can be made, which can be cut 3 mm each time and completed in 3 times.
3. Once it is found that the circuit board is not fixed firmly, shaking or shaking occurs, it is easy to break the cutting edge knife, and it is necessary to stop the cutting edge immediately.
