Factors affecting the final color yield of cotton fabrics

The cotton fabric was pretreated with the raw paste made of sodium alginate, urea and sodium bicarbonate and then ink-jet printed with cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks, respectively. The final color of the printed fabrics was measured using a 4 factor 2 level orthogonal test with sodium alginate, urea, sodium bicarbonate, and steaming time, and the lightfastness, washfastness, and wearfastness of the printed fabrics were tested. The study results showed that the dosage was the most significant factor, followed by sodium alginate for blue, magenta, yellow and black for steaming time.
