Classification of flexo ink
1. Water-based ink (mainly used for paper printing)
The biggest feature of water-based ink is the use of water-soluble or water-dispersible resin as the binder, which significantly reduces the emission of organic volatiles. Compared with solvent-based inks, it can completely eliminate the harm of certain toxic substances to the human body. And pollution of packaged goods.
The water-based ink makes less investment in environmental protection, and there is no need to install fire protection devices, solvent recovery, and pollution-free discharge devices. The viscosity of water-based ink is stable during use, and no viscosity control equipment is needed. The printing machine is easy to clean with low cost and strong coloring power. The disadvantage of water-based ink is that it is not suitable for film printing, slow drying speed, poor gloss, poor water resistance, affecting the scalability of paper and corroding the printing machine.
2. Solvent-based (including alcohol-soluble) ink (mainly used for plastic printing)
Solvent ink is a kind of ink commonly used in various printing methods. It has the characteristics of bright colors, fast drying speed and good gloss.
In recent years, in the printing of plastic film packaging, flexographic printing inks are vigorously promoting the use of alcohol-soluble inks, because alcohol solvents are the least toxic of organic solvents, and there is no corrosion and damage to flexographic printing plates. Good alcohol-soluble inks have hot spots such as good fluidity, fast drying speed, firm adhesion, strong gloss, and bright colors. Of course, alcohol solvents are harmful to the environment and safety.
3. Flexible version of UV ink (universal type, paper and plastic film can be printed)
UV ink uses ultraviolet radiation of a certain wavelength to make liquid UV ink into solid ink through photochemical reaction. The characteristics of UV ink are: safe and reliable, no solvent discharge, non-flammable, no environmental pollution, suitable for food, beverage, Packaging and printed matter with high hygienic requirements such as tobacco, alcohol and medicine.
