The printing industry's international organizations and the world's printing powers generally publish the output value of their national printing industry every year, but their coverage varies, some without packaging and decoration printing (such as the United Kingdom), and some with publication printing and packaging decoration. Printing (such as China) also includes prepress proofing and postpress processing (such as Japan); the meaning of “output value†is also not consistent, some are sales values, and some are production (industry) values, which can be described as having their own characteristics. The collected information is now compiled into essays so that readers can deepen this understanding.
I. Domestic situation
At present, China's regular publication of the output value of the printing industry is the State Press and Publication Administration (hereinafter referred to as the General Administration of) and the China Association of Printing and Equipment Equipment Industry (hereinafter referred to as the Association). The General Administration of Administration gives a simple statistical value. There are also sub-items below the total value, and also released some values related to the printing industry, such as production (printing paper, ink, film, PS version, etc.) production, import and export volume, market capacity; printing machinery output value and Import and export volume and related information. Due to different statistical perspectives, at present, the two are still unable to agree on the data. The following table shows the output value of the national printing industry they have given over the years.
Table 1: Associations, General Administration of Press and Publication announced the output value of printing industry over the years Unit: 100 million yuan
Table 2: The Association announced the output value of China's printing industry in 2005: 100 million yuan
* refers to a trade method for external processing. The printed output value is not calculated at home
Second, the foreign situation
1. Total output value, classification and distribution of the world's printing industry
At the "International Printing Development Forum" held in May 2005, Dr. G uid o Corbella, president of the Association of Printing, Paper, and Paper Processing Machinery Manufacturers of Italy, gave the current value of the printing industry worldwide. He said: At present, the total output value of the international printing industry is about 702 billion U.S. dollars, and the output value of its sub-items and the percentage of its total output value are shown in Table 3.
There is another classification, as shown in Table 4. It only lists the variety and share of prints and divides the world into three categories: Western Europe, North America, and Asia.
Table 4: Global Print Market Share
(Numbers as a percentage of market share)
A further classification from P97-98, the special edition of the Seventh World Printing Conference in China Printing, lists the distribution of the printing industry in different fields and the proportion of the output value of the printing industry in this field, as shown in Table 5.
It can be seen from this table that the printing industry exists in all fields of the national economy, but the proportions are different. For developing countries, there are two difficulties in using this form. First, the development of various sectors of the national economy in a certain period of time is not necessarily balanced in all areas of the national economy. Second, it is difficult to grasp the statistics of various sectors of the national economy, including Statistical difficulty and its accuracy. But I personally think that the table still has great reference value.
