Cartons are one of the most common external packagings for modern commodities. Qualified cartons are responsible for various tasks such as the protection of contents, the identification of product information, and the ease of transportation. At the same time, due to the low threshold of the carton industry and the large number of users, the competition in the carton industry is fierce. As the end-user's requirements for the quality of the carton are getting higher and higher, the cartons' price has also been limited.
In order to meet the customer's low price requirements for carton boxes, some carton plants have lowered their standards in material selection and used low-quality raw materials. This is actually a practice of killing chickens and getting eggs, eager for quick success, and no benefit to customers and carton factories.
Starting from the structure to save the cost of carton
This article discusses how to reasonably use materials, reduce material consumption, and save carton production costs without affecting the main performance of the carton.
First, analyze the entire life of the carton. Take fast-consumer packaging cartons as an example (assuming pallets are installed in the production floor). The life-cycle analysis of cartons under different logistics methods is shown in Table 1.
As can be seen from Table 1, due to the modularization and standardization of the logistics system, the number of cartons handling is reduced, and accordingly, the time that the cartons are fixed at a certain position on the stack increases.
Secondly, the paper also analyzes the corresponding requirements of carton technology specifications and carton logistics environment, as shown in Table 2.
In order to enhance the compressive strength of the carton, the simplest approach is to increase the grade of the material and increase the thickness of the carton. However, this will inevitably lead to an increase in the production costs of the carton, which means a drop in profits. This is a headache for the carton plant.
If we carefully analyze the thicker carton, we will find that half (or even more) of the added material is wasted. In the existing process, increasing the material of the carton means that all six sides of the carton are reinforced, including the top and bottom of the carton, but from the requirements of the carton specifications shown in Table 2, the carton top and bottom The materials did not contribute to the compressive strength of the carton, but increased the cost of the carton and weakened the competitiveness.
